Case Study

Can Tax Information be Entertaining?

One of our largest clients enlisted us to manage a complex group move from the west-coast US to the mid-west, impacting hundreds of employees. The client set ambitious acceptance rates and we recommended hosting detailed information sessions to help their employees see the advantages of accepting a move.

One of the components of great interest to the client was relocation tax and keeping its mobile employees informed of how relocation can impact their tax filing status. To help school them, we held a series of meetings on-site at the client’s offices, covering such topics as the differences between state tax rates in the departure and destination locations as well as the tax implications of selling a home, purchasing a home and changing state tax residency.

Stakeholders within the client organization had nothing but praise for these briefing sessions, noting that they heard rave reviews from the employees and witnessed lots of laughter and applause from standing room only crowds. While we are always proud to talk about the passion of our subject matter experts, anyone who can get a roomful of mobile employees to applaud a tax information session is a superstar in our book.
