Weichert Workforce Mobility Accelerates Asia Pacific Expansion with New Office and Leadership 06.28.2017

Weichert Workforce Mobility, Inc., one of the world’s leading providers of mobile workforce management solutions, announced that Avrom Goldberg has joined the organization as Regional Vice President/Managing Director, Asia Pacific. He will lead the company’s Asia Pacific strategy and be responsible for managing service operations and expanding supplier partnerships throughout the region.

Along with Goldberg’s hiring, Weichert also announced an expansion of its Asia Pacific presence with a new office in Shanghai. Complementing existing offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, the Shanghai office enables Weichert to provide greater local resources and expertise to companies moving talent into, out of and across China. The new office is located in the central Huangpu district in the impressive Bund Center, one of the city’s most recognizable buildings.

Goldberg has over 30 years of experience in managing global workforce mobility programs for multinational companies. He began his career in 1983 managing international mobility in the Netherlands for a leading US-based relocation management company. He went on to establish his own destination services company in Amsterdam, creating the first Pan-European network of professional relocation services providers. He then joined a leading US-based relocation management company to create and manage its global DSP network. Avrom transitioned into business development roles across both EMEA and APAC before settling in Hong Kong in 2001. In 2006, he took on the role of Managing Director of Asia Pacific and the Middle East for Sirva and consolidated his reputation as a pioneer of APAC mobility. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President, Global Solutions, at Lexicon.

One of the relocation industry’s foremost experts on the China and APAC markets, Goldberg is the architect of several definitive research studies on the region as well as groundbreaking white papers on mobility in China and India, all of which have been widely referenced in global business publications. He was twice distinguished by The Forum for Expatriate Management, having won the EMMA award for “Outstanding Contribution to APAC Global Mobility” in 2016 and “Global Mobility Professional of the Year” in 2012

“Avrom has a solid track record for leveraging his deep local expertise, industry knowledge and long-standing relationships to help multinational companies seamlessly navigate Asia Pacific’s increasingly diverse and complex business landscape,” said Dave Bencivengo, President of Weichert Workforce Mobility. “I can think of no one better qualified to propel our APAC growth, and I’m confident he’ll have an immediate impact on our business.”

Added Lawrence Mahmarian, Weichert’s Senior Vice President of Global Operations, “With the addition of Avrom and the opening of our Shanghai office, we’ve significantly enhanced our ability to support both multinational clients looking to take advantage of China business opportunities and local corporations tackling talent mobility issues.”

“I’m excited to join a company where integrity and innovation are not just buzzwords, they’re part of their organizational DNA,” said Goldberg. “Weichert’s expanding APAC presence and resources will not only ensure the high caliber service for which Weichert is justifiably known, but it will also enhance the superior consultative strategies available to clients in-region to help them keep mobility aligned with their workforce goals and objectives.”
