Our company was established in 1969 as part of the Weichert Family of Companies, which includes 11 companies focused on real estate, relocation and mortgage financing.
Since opening our doors, we have evolved from a home marketing- and home sale-focused company into one of the world’s leading providers of workforce mobility management services, with a service scope extending into approximately 175 countries.
In 1998, our UK office earned ISO 9001:2000 certification, the internationally recognized quality standard which many corporations strive to achieve. This office continues to hold ISO certification to this day.
In 1999, we developed the Weichert Global Network, a team of carefully selected, exceptionally trained workforce mobility experts who provide on-the-ground service and local support to relocating employees across the globe.
In 1999, we expanded our operations into Canada, opening offices in Toronto and Calgary to better serve Canadian companies and companies with extensive cross-border activity.
In 2004, we introduced the Weichert Move Network (WMN), a smarter way to source household goods moving services, featuring point-to-point control, professional contract negotiation, volume discount pricing and numerous other benefits for clients and their employees.
In 2005, the Weichert Move Network expanded its service capabilities into Canada and the UK, adding on-site move coordinators at our global offices.
In 2005, we expended our Asia presence, launching Weichert Relocation Resources Asia Pacific Ltd., headquartered in Hong Kong. With this office, WRRI now has mobility professionals and subject matter experts in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
In 2005, we became the second largest provider of workforce mobility services in Canada, serving as the exclusive provider to three of Canada’s “Big Five” banking institutions.
In 2006, we acquired PricewaterhouseCoopers’ U.S.-based Global Mobility Services practice. This enables us to offer clients the widest range of services under one roof, including Big Four-caliber tax and compensation services.
In 2008, we launched MyWIN, our workforce mobility management system, which offers clients and their mobile employees instant online access to any facet of their program data and over 100 custom reporting features.
In 2011, our Weichert Global Network expanded to include over 4,000 on-the-ground specialists in approximately 175 countries.
In 2012, we opened a second Asia Pacific operations center in Singapore.
In 2012, we were named Relocation Management Company of the Year at the EMMA Awards, presented by the Forum for Expatriate Management.
In 2013, we became the first relocation management company to become an agent of a major van line when we created Weichert Transportation Solutions with Atlas Van Lines. This solution offers clients access to the best drivers and no blackout dates.
In 2013, we changed the name of our company to Weichert Workforce Mobility, a name that we feel better reflects the true scope of our services.
In 2014, we embraced an ambitious, long-term vision of delivering a holistic, end-to-end mobility solution through vertical alignment of the supply chain, launching in-house title and closing, household goods and relocation tax services to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
In 2015, we acquired Allegiance Government Relocation, offering government agencies a stronger value proposition with the combined strength of two market leaders.
In 2015 we also acquired Penn Properties, which was rebranded as Aureus Property Management, offering a host of advanced tenancy management services for mobile employees. The name Aureus comes from the name of the gold coins that served as the primary monetary unit in ancient Rome — the literal “Gold Standard.”
In 2016, we were named RELOCATION MANAGEMENT COMPANY OF THE YEAR for the third consecutive year at the Americas EMMA Awards. We are the first company to attain this honor, as well as the first to be named RMC of the year four times in five years.
